Required Years of Experience: 5+ year of experience in employee benefit sales or related experience in sales, marketing, new business development, and/or managing business to business relationships

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred

Licensing: Appropriately licensed and/or certified in Mid-Atlantic Region (within 3 months of hire)

The Role

  • Accountable for managing a sales territory to achieve sales goals and strategic objectives by cultivating new client relationships and closing sales in the large group (100-5000) lives market
  • Initiates and maintains mutually beneficial business relationships in order to grow membership and maximize revenue growth. Implements new sales plans and effective marketing strategies to position the organization competitively
  • Collaborates with account management, underwriting and other internal partners to maximize new business sales
  • Build new and leverage established broker/consultant relationships to increase sales opportunities and influence business outcomes
  • Act as strategic liaison for company plans to the broker community
  • Actively participate in industry related associations and organization activities
  • A continual desire to actively participate in driving the organization to greater levels of success

  • A good understanding of how employee benefits and insurance products are delivered, purchased and financed
  • Ability to communicate sales proposal in a manner that brokers and customers are able to understand

  • Experience creating client presentations using Microsoft Office programs and incorporating client database
